Role Summary

WEL is seeking dedicated professionals with a legal or governance background to provide oversight, minimize institutional risks, and strengthen compliance systems as a Volunteer Member of the Board of Directors.

Core Areas of Expertise Required

Governance Frameworks

  •  Strong understanding of non-profit board development and institutional governance structures.

Compliance & Risk Management

  •  Expertise in organizational compliance, legal advisory, and policy design.

Institutional Sustainability

  •  Ability to guide the long-term institutional strengthening and operational health of a growing organization.

Expected Commitment

  • Attend quarterly board meetings and specialized governance committee sessions.
  • Provide expert legal or risk advisory inputs during strategic discussions.
  • Commit to a 3-year term to guide policy enforcement and inclusive governance.

Safeguarding Note

  •  WEL enforces zero tolerance for safeguarding violations; successful candidates will undergo background and reference checks.
