Our client is seeking a professional and trustworthy Live-In Chef to manage daily meal preparation and kitchen operations within a private residence.

The ideal candidate should have experience working in a private home or executive residence and be capable of preparing quality meals while maintaining high standards of hygiene, discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Plan and prepare daily meals, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Prepare meals according to family preferences, nutritional requirements and dietary restrictions or allergies.
  • Develop weekly or monthly rotating menus.
  • Prepare special-occasion meals and dinner-party menus when required.
  • Source quality ingredients and support household grocery shopping.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, pantry and refrigerator stocks.
  • Work within agreed household food budgets and minimize food wastage.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage and kitchen safety.
  • Maintain kitchen appliances, utensils and work areas in good condition.
  • Provide light kitchen-related housekeeping and pantry organization where required.
  • Provide table-service support when required by the household.

Qualifications or requirements

  • Diploma, certificate or degree in Culinary Arts, Food Production, Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Valid Food Handlers' Certificate.
  • Valid medical/fitness report.
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling.
  • Ability to prepare a variety of meals and adapt menus to household preferences.

Experience needed

At least 3 years experience working as a chef in a private home, executive residence or similar environment.
