Role Context

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Loan Officer to join our growing team. The Loan Officer will be responsible for managing a portfolio of loans, assessing client creditworthiness, and ensuring the repayment of loans. This role is crucial in expanding our reach and impact within the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess potential clients for loan applications.
  • Conduct thorough credit analysis and risk assessment.
  • Prepare loan proposals and present them to the credit committee.
  • Disburse loans and monitor loan performance.
  • Manage loan portfolio, ensuring timely repayments and minimizing defaults.
  • Provide financial advice and support to clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and community stakeholders.
  • Achieve individual and team lending targets.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar role within the financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, risk management, and loan processing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the Kenyan microfinance landscape is an added advantage.

Experience Needed:

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in loan origination, credit assessment, and portfolio management.
