Role Context
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Loan Officer to join our growing team. The Loan Officer will be responsible for managing a portfolio of loans, assessing client creditworthiness, and ensuring the repayment of loans. This role is crucial in expanding our reach and impact within the communities we serve.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess potential clients for loan applications.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis and risk assessment.
- Prepare loan proposals and present them to the credit committee.
- Disburse loans and monitor loan performance.
- Manage loan portfolio, ensuring timely repayments and minimizing defaults.
- Provide financial advice and support to clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and community stakeholders.
- Achieve individual and team lending targets.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar role within the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of credit analysis, risk management, and loan processing.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of the Kenyan microfinance landscape is an added advantage.
Experience Needed:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in loan origination, credit assessment, and portfolio management.
