Role Description
The Logbook Loan Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi County, Kenya. This role is responsible for originating logbook loan applications, assessing client eligibility, and guiding customers through the loan process from initial inquiry to disbursement.
Daily Activities
Daily activities include conducting client interviews, verifying documentation, performing preliminary underwriting checks, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
The Logbook Loan Officer will maintain accurate records, follow up on pending applications, support loan recovery efforts, and provide professional customer service to build long-term relationships. The role also involves working closely with branch teams to achieve sales targets, manage risk, and promote Phoenix Capital Limited’s financial products in a clear and ethical manner.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in loan officer roles, particularly in vehicle or logbook lending, with a strong understanding of loan products and credit processes.
Solid knowledge of finance and basic accounting principles to assess affordability, analyze client financial information, and support sound lending decisions.
Practical exposure to underwriting and risk assessment, including evaluating collateral, reviewing documentation, and ensuring adherence to lending policies.
Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, handle inquiries professionally, and build trust with a diverse client base.
Experience in loan origination, including lead generation, application processing, and coordination with internal teams for approval and disbursement.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
Proficiency in basic computer applications and familiarity with loan management systems or CRM tools.
Diploma or degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; relevant certifications in credit management or microfinance are an added advantage.
Ability to work on-site in Nairobi County, meet targets under minimal supervision, and uphold high ethical and compliance standards.
