Role Overview:
As a Logistics Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee the efficient and effective management of warehousing and transport operations. You will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods, optimizing inventory management, ensuring timely deliveries, and implementing logistics strategies to meet customer requirements. Your role is crucial in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence within the supply chain.
What you will do:
Warehouse Management/3PL management
- Manage all aspects of warehousing operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods
- Optimize warehouse layout and organization to maximize space utilisation and improve operational efficiency
- Implement and enforce best practices for inventory control, cycle counting, and stock management
Transportation and Distribution
- Coordinate the transportation of goods from suppliers to warehouses and from warehouses to customers
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution
- Manage relationships with transportation providers, contracts, and monitor service levels
Inventory Management
- Collaborate with the planning team to align on forecasted inventory levels
- Participate in Retail & Wholesale Trade meeting to contribute, plan and optimize Logistics operations according to the market needs
Performance Monitoring and Improvement
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance of warehousing and transportation activities
- Continuously evaluate operational processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and service level enhancement
- Implement corrective actions and process enhancements to address gaps and optimize logistics operations
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to warehousing, transportation, and safety
- Mitigate logistics-related risks by implementing appropriate safety measures, security protocols, and contingency plans
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to logistics operations and regulatory compliance
Supplier and Vendor Management
- Collaborate with Brand representatives and vendor management teams to manage relationships with logistics service providers, including carriers, freight forwarders, and third- party warehouses, Brand suppliers
- Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and monitor service level agreements to ensure compliance and drive operational efficiency
How you will be measured:
Business Targets
- Delivery in full on time - based on picking in full (% of fulfilment) & on time, as per the agreed SLA
- Warehouse Space utilization – measured quarterly against the set budget & the utilization versus space allocated by 3PL
- Transport Cost per Unit - Cost to be determined with 3PL/country
- Overall Logistics cost as a % of Sales - % to be set. As a target, should be less than 2%
- Warehouse Productivity – Order processing time, pick accuracy, etc vs SLA agreed
- Warehouse Inventory Shrinkage % - Stock loss % on inventory holding, as agreed with 3PL/country manager
Stakeholder Engagement
- Effective collaboration with Operations and Country teams to ensure that global logistics strategies can be rolled out effectively in the local markets
- Active collaboration with supporting functions to ensure that business objectives are achieved and the required local support is provided

What you will bring to the role:
- Diploma/degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (preferred)
- At least 5 years of experience in logistics management, including warehousing and transportation, within the retail or wholesale industry
- Knowledge of inventory management principles, demand forecasting, and supply chain optimization.
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as (ERP) and/or warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven decisions
- Knowledge of logistics regulations, compliance standards, and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Fluency in English and local language
