JOB TITLE

LOGISTICS & WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

USD 700-900 (ALL TRAVEL LOGISTICS, ACCOMMONDATION AND MEALS WILL BE CATERED FOR)

JOB LOCATION

LUBUMBASHI- DRC

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Warehouse and Operations Coordination

  • Coordinate daily warehouse operations, including loading and offloading of trucks.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient flow of fuel distribution activities.
  • Supervise operational processes to minimize delays and losses.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and safety standards.

Fleet and Logistics Monitoring

  • Monitor truck movements using tracking systems.
  • Track deliveries and ensure timely dispatch and arrival.
  • Report delays, route deviations, and operational issues.
  • Maintain accurate logistics and transport records.

Team Supervision and Management

  • Coordinate and supervise a team of approximately 30 staff.
  • Provide guidance to drivers, conveyors, and station attendants.
  • Ensure staff adherence to company procedures and discipline.
  • Promote teamwork and operational efficiency.

Systems and Infrastructure Oversight

  • Monitor functionality of operational systems (trackers, cameras, solar systems).
  • Ensure all systems are maintained and operational.
  • Report technical issues and follow up on resolution.
  • Support implementation of system improvements.

Compliance, Safety and Risk Control

  • Ensure adherence to safety standards in fuel handling and logistics.
  • Monitor and report suspicious or fraudulent activities.
  • Conduct regular alcohol (breathalyzer) tests for drivers and conveyors.
  • Promote a culture of integrity, safety, and accountability.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and submit weekly operational reports.
  • Compile monthly management information system (MIS) reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics and warehouse activities.
  • Communicate updates and issues clearly to management in English.

Process Improvement and Performance Management

  • Identify inefficiencies in logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce losses and increase performance.
  • Support implementation of operational best practices.
  • Adapt quickly to operational and environmental changes.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Logistics, Operations Management, or Business Administration
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in fuel industry or truck logistics
  • Experience working in Africa (outside home country) is an added advantage
  • Firefighting training is an added advantage
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage teams in a multicultural environment
