Background
We are a Christian school in the education sector seeking a qualified Learning Support teacher (Mathematics). The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing individualized and small-group instructional support to learners with diverse academic, developmental, or behavioral needs, focusing on helping learners access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential within an inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction tailored to students' individual learning needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, and executive functioning skills.
- Identify and address gaps in foundational academic skills.
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with identified learning needs.
- Provide direct support to students within the general education classroom setting.
- Assist learners with smooth transitions between subjects and learning activities.
- Apply a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles, including tactile, visual, and multisensory approaches.
- Ensure proper organization, use and management of instructional and learning materials provided.
Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant teaching experience (in a classroom setup) as a Special Needs teacher or an equivalent position in a reputable organization.
- Degree or Diploma in Special Needs.
- TSC Number.
- Proficiency in Computer Applications.
