Job Purpose
We are looking for a highly organized and detailed oriented Maintenance Store Clerk responsible for receiving, recording, issuing, and safeguarding plant equipment, spare parts, and safety gear. The Maintenance Store Clerk will play a key role in supporting maintenance activities by ensuring timely availability of stock materials and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all received, issued, and stored items. Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely reordering to avoid shortages or overstocking. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies. Organize and label inventory for easy access and traceability.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure safe storage and handling of all materials in line with safety regulations. Provide PPE and tools to plant staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant storage environment.
- Resource Allocation: Support maintenance teams by distributing required tools and spare parts. Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure resource availability. Manage the lifecycle of inventory items to minimize waste and optimize usage.

- Documentation Control: Ensure all inventory transactions are properly documented and filed for audit purposes. Maintain up-to-date records of warranties, service agreements, and equipment manuals.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with suppliers for timely deliveries and resolve any discrepancies in orders. Process returns or defective items as per company policies.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline store operations, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency. Participate in lean management initiatives and digital tool adoption (e.g., ERP upgrades).
Minimum Requirements
- Academic Qualifications: A certificate in Electrical or Mechanical.
- Professional Qualifications: A qualification in store management will be an added advantage.
- Experience: At least one year experience as a store clerk in a similar organisation. Practical experience in use of MS packages and ERP systems.
- Technical Competencies: Proficiency in inventory tracking and documentation. Experience with spare parts, tools, and PPE management. Knowledge of safety standards related to storage and handling. Ability to support maintenance planning through timely resource allocation.
- Behavioral Competencies: Highly organized and detail-oriented. Dependable and consistent in task execution. Strong communication and coordination skills. Proactive in identifying improvements and maintaining safety.
