Job Summary: –

Responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle for all Bank products. This role provides strategic leadership in product analysis, research, innovation, development, and commercialization. The position ensures the delivery of competitive and customer-focused solutions by guiding product strategy, piloting innovations, and fostering sustainable growth within the Retail and SME portfolios.

Key responsibilities

Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management: Develop and implement the Bank Product strategy aligned with business goals. Manage the full product lifecycle from concept to launch and eventual retirement. Ensure products remain competitive, compliant, and meet changing customer demands.

Research, Analysis & Innovation: Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking, and gather customer insights to shape product strategy. Identify opportunities for innovation to improve customer engagement and product relevance. Test new ideas and technologies to assess market fit and scalability.

Product Development & Commercialization: Supervise the design, testing, and introduction of new products and enhancements. Develop effective go-to-market plans, pricing strategies, and positioning to maximize adoption. Track product performance post-launch and suggest improvements to enhance value.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including Digital, Marketing, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Legal to execute product initiatives. Establish partnerships with fintechs, industry stakeholders, and regulators to support product development. Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely delivery.

Governance, Risk & Compliance: Ensure all products comply with regulatory standards, internal policies, and risk management frameworks. Monitor emerging risks within the product portfolio and implement mitigation strategies. Provide senior leadership with reports on product performance, risks, and opportunities.

Leadership & Capability Development: Lead and mentor the Product Management team to enhance execution capabilities. Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and customer focus within the product function. Encourage continuous improvement and adoption of best practices in product management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Academic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Strategic Management or its equivalent from a recognized institution will be an added advantage; and
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, Strategic Management, Marketing or its equivalent from a recognized institution

Professional Qualifications

  • Chartered Institute of Marketing diploma or its equivalent; and
  • Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or equivalent professional body.

Experience

  • At least 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.

Generic Competencies

  • Ability to write complex letters, comprehensive reports and to perform complex calculations

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Strong innovative and creative thinking skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent project management skills; and
  • Should demonstrate knowledge of banking applications.

Remuneration

A package commensurate with the posts shall be discussed and agreed with the successful candidates.
