Responsibilities or duties

System Support & Maintenance

  • Provide daily technical and functional support for CB liabilities modules (deposits, current accounts, savings, fixed deposits).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, system errors, and performance issues related to liabilities products.
  • Manage configurations, parameterization, and enhancements of CB liabilities modules.
  • Ensure smooth end-of-day (EOD), end-of-month (EOM), and interest accrual processes.

Change & Release Management

  • Coordinate upgrades, patches, and new releases for liabilities modules with vendors and internal teams.
  • Conduct system testing (SIT/UAT) and validation before production rollout.
  • Document system changes and maintain version control.

Integration & Automation

  • Support integration of liabilities modules with digital banking, payments, treasury, and financial reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to automate manual processes related to account management and reconciliation.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across all integrated systems.

Risk, Compliance & Security

  • Ensure compliance with CBK ICT Guidelines, Data Protection Act 2019, AML/KYC policies, and IT security standards.
  • Implement access controls, segregation of duties, and audit logs for CB liabilities systems.
  • Work with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to close system gaps and vulnerabilities.

Business Support & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the IT liaison for business teams managing deposits, savings, and current accounts.
  • Translate business product requirements into IT system solutions.
  • Provide training and technical support to business users of liability modules.
  • Participate in projects related to new liability products as the IT subject matter expert.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor performance and capacity of CB liabilities modules, recommending upgrades and optimizations.
  • Identify opportunities to digitize, automate, and improve liability product processes.
  • Research emerging technologies (API-based integrations, open banking) for liability services.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, Oracle Core Banking, Microsoft SQL, or vendor-specific certifications.

Experience needed

Work Experience

  • At least 7 years of IT experience in core banking systems with 3+ years supporting liabilities modules.
  • Knowledge of deposits, interest processing, and reconciliation from an IT perspective.
  • Experience in SQL, system integration, and vendor management.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical expertise in core banking liabilities modules.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of APIs, middleware, and integration with external systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance IT compliance and business objectives.
  • High integrity, detail orientation, and customer service mindset.
