Job Purpose
Responsible for the preparation, analysis and delivery of timely, accurate and insightful management reports and financial analysis that support effective performance monitoring, strategic planning and informed decision-making by management.
Key Responsibilities
Management Reporting — 40%
- Preparation of the management accounts in accordance with the generally accepted accounting standards (IFRS) and prudential guidelines.
- Analyse actual performance against budget, forecasts and prior periods, highlighting key variances and business drivers.
- Monitor income and expense reporting lines daily to ensure income and expenses have been correctly captured, and any mis-posts have been corrected.
- Provide comprehensive, in-depth and timely analytical support to the organization through developing financial reports and presentations.
- Review income, expenditure, balance sheet and profitability trends and provide insightful commentary.
- Assist in the preparation of Board pack, ALCO pack, EXCO Pack and ad hoc presentations/reports depending on management's needs.
- Preparation of key ratios (cost of funds, yield on assets and cost of income) and other financial ratios (gross loans to customer deposits, liquidity, non-funded to total income) and advising on the right mix.
- Prepare branch profitability reports.
- Support the budgeting, forecasting and periodic reforecasting processes.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness and integrity of management reporting information.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements.
Regulatory Reporting — 40%
- Support the preparation and submission of CBK reports.
- Support the preparation and submission of KDIC reports.
- Support the collation, validation and reconciliation of information required for CBK reporting.
- Review relevant GL balances and GL mappings to ensure consistency with management reporting.
- Assist in preparation of quarterly financial publication.
Audit Support — 20%
- Coordinate external audit activities, including provision of requested information, follow-up on audit queries and facilitating timely resolution of audit matters.
- Conduct specific financial reviews and analysis as required.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting requests while maintaining accuracy, quality and appropriate controls.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for this Role
Job Knowledge
- Good knowledge and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting principles, methods, techniques, and standards as applied within the company's business environment.
- Good knowledge of CBK prudential guidelines.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers and related applications such as MS Office, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications.
- Ability to work in a highly demanding environment with time pressures and manage multiple tasks.
Experience and Education
- Minimum 5 years' working experience in Finance.
- Bachelor's degree in either Accounting, Finance or Economics from a recognized University.
- Professional qualification in CPA or ACCA.
