Manager – Taxation & Commercial Matters
Position: Manager – Taxation & Commercial Matters
Location: Nairobi
Experience: 5–7 years
Qualification: Chartered Accountant
Job Summary:
The Manager – Taxation & Commercial Matters will oversee tax compliance, tax planning, commercial financial matters, and related advisory activities while supporting the organization in managing tax and commercial risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee corporate tax compliance and statutory tax obligations.
- Coordinate preparation and submission of tax returns and related documentation.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
- Provide tax advice to management on business and commercial transactions.
- Support tax planning and identify opportunities for tax efficiency.
- Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Manage tax audits, assessments, queries, and related correspondence.
- Review commercial agreements and transactions from a financial and tax perspective.
- Identify and manage tax and commercial risks.
- Prepare tax and commercial reports for senior management.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and internal controls are maintained.
- Work closely with finance, procurement, sales, legal, and other departments.
Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant qualification.
- 5–7 years of relevant taxation and commercial finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and regulations.
- Experience in tax compliance, planning, audits, and commercial matters.
- Strong analytical, advisory, negotiation, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
