The Maritime Labour Officer supports the implementation of seafarers’ welfare and labour standards within the maritime industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the working and living conditions of seafarers aboard Kenyan-registered vessels.
- Review compliance with the Maritime Labour Convention.
- Address complaints from seafarers regarding employment terms and welfare.
- Support awareness creation on labour rights in the maritime sector.
