Job Purpose/Mission

The Marketing Coordinator will support the execution of marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition, product adoption, and brand visibility across Kenya. The role plays a key part in coordinating field marketing, last-mile activations, and digital engagement to support Ignite Energy Access’ mission of delivering affordable, reliable energy solutions.

Responsibilities :

Field Marketing & Last-Mile Activations

  • Plan and coordinate on-ground marketing activations in rural and peri-urban markets
  • Support the field teams with marketing materials and campaigns
  • Ensure strong brand visibility at shops, market storms, and community events
  • Work closely with regional teams to align campaigns with local market needs

Campaign Execution (Above & Below the Line)

  • Assist in executing integrated campaigns (SMS, social media, activations)
  • Coordinate campaign timelines, materials, and stakeholder inputs
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend improvements

Customer Engagement & PAYGo Journey Support

  • Support initiatives that improve customer onboarding, education, and retention
  • Work with Customer Experience teams to develop communication materials (SMS, call scripts, FAQs)
  • Ensure clear and consistent messaging on product usage, payments, and benefits

Vendor & Budget Coordination

  • Liaise with agencies, printers, media partners, and activation teams
  • Track marketing spend and ensure cost-effective execution
  • Support procurement processes for marketing materials and services

Content & Brand Management

  • Develop and localize marketing content (posters, flyers, messaging, digital content)
  • Ensure all materials are aligned to IEA brand guidelines
  • Manage social media platforms and support content publishing

Trade Marketing & Sales Support

  • Collaborate with Sales teams to drive sell-out campaigns and promotions
  • Support launch of new products in the market
  • Track availability and usage of POS materials across regions

Market Intelligence & Insights

  • Gather insights from the field on customer behaviour, competitor activity, and product feedback
  • Conduct basic market research to support decision-making
  • Share insights with Marketing, Product, and Commercial teams

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
  • 2–4 years’ experience in marketing, preferably in FMCG, telecom, fintech, or off-grid energy
  • Experience working in rural or last-mile markets is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with PAYGo or financial inclusion models is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong coordination and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (English & Swahili; vernacular is a plus)
  • Ability to work with field teams across multiple regions
  • Creative problem-solving and adaptability
  • Basic data analysis and reporting skills
  • Strong stakeholder management
