Mechanical Engineer- Internship at Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC, KenGen

Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC, KenGen  was incorporated on 1 February 1954 under the Companies Act (Chapter 486 of the Laws of Kenya) as Kenya Power Company (KPC) to construct the transmission line between Nairobi and Tororo in Uganda as well as to develop geothermal and other generating facilities in the country.

The job entails Operation & maintenance of plant and equipment in the power plants , drilling , reservoir and steam field as well as dispatch Centre

Job Description

Duties and responsibilities

  • Operation, repair and maintenance of power plants, equipment, workshop equipment, tools, pipeline, steam-gathering system, earthmovers, drilling rigs and measurement of geothermal well parameters and building services Equipment/systems.
  • Supervision of construction, installation and commissioning of power plant, machinery, equipment and pipeline.
  • Monitoring, evaluation and reporting on maintenance programs, energy generation, projects implementation schedule, efficiency of machines, equipment performance and geothermal wells data.
  • Collection of data for maintenance, projects and energy planning
  • Scheduling of calibration program for equipment, tools and instruments

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering from a recognized institution and accredited by Engineers Board of Kenya
