Purpose

Looking for a Mechanical Engineer Lead mechanical maintenance, oversee upgrades, ensure compliance, and drive reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • EBK registered or eligible.
  • 4-6 years’ experience in manufacturing/refinery; food processing experience a plus.
  • Proficient in design and maintenance tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Experience in industrial machinery maintenance and reliability systems.

Skills

  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong team leadership and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Attention to food quality and hygiene standards
  • Cost-conscious approach to resource and energy use
  • Experience in edible oil refining and edible food processing plants
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or reliability improvement methodologies
  • Experience with ERP/CMMS (maintenance planning systems)

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of refining, pumping, heating, and packaging systems.
  • Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime.
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, upgrades, and CAPEX for machinery and production lines.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, manufacturing, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with production, QA, and operations to maintain throughput, quality, and cost targets.
  • Manage spare parts, maintenance records, and service documentation.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise maintenance staff and junior engineers.
  • Drive reliability, continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term mechanical solutions.
  • Optimize equipment performance through analytics, KPIs, and mechanical integrity practices.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and implement new technologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors and report on maintenance performance and trends.
