Responsibilities or duties
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain tea packing machines, conveyors, bucket elevators, motors, gears, pneumatic systems, and other plant equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Prepare maintenance reports and raise spare parts requisitions through the ERP system.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop and work area.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and plant performance.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a recognized technical trade certification.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office; knowledge of ERP systems and CAD is an added advantage.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience needed
- 2–4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or continuous production environment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
