MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

Kinangop Dairy Limited is one of the leading dairy processors in Kenya. We are located in Nyandarua County just 44 minutes from Naivasha town. Our quality dairy products are available countrywide.

We are seeking a highly-skilled, reliable, self-motivated Mechanical Technician to join our engineering team.

Roles & Responsibilities;

  • Carry out Preventive maintenance of machines as per laid down instructions and procedures to ensure a smooth running.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical equipment (Pumps, homogenizers, separators, conveyors, etc.) and machine failures by inspection and testing prescribing corrective action and reinstating it back to its working condition.
  • Evaluate and improve the preventive maintenance plans as proposed by suppliers, create review, application and optimisation of lubrication program for all Mechanical equipment.
  • Logging details of work performed on data records to enable further action, planning for next service and storage as history.
  • Perform any other assigned duties by the supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • At least a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering -Plant Option;
  • Knowledge in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and installations in a factory.
  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
  • At least 2 years working in a manufacturing set-up with some experience in a Dairy processing plant will be an added advantage.
  • Good Maintenance and shutdown planning skills
