Blueberry Africa is looking for a detail-oriented Media Monitoring Analyst to track media coverage, identify emerging narratives, and turn information into clear, actionable insights for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor news, print, television, radio, podcasts, digital platforms, and social media.
  • Identify important narratives, trends, sentiment, and emerging issues.
  • Track reputational risks and developments across relevant sectors and markets.
  • Prepare daily media briefings, reports, and client updates.
  • Analyse media coverage and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Support monitoring during breaking news, campaigns, and major news cycles.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience in media monitoring, journalism, research, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Strong news judgment and current affairs awareness.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with media monitoring or social listening tools.
  • Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Ability to create and refine Boolean search queries.
  • Understanding of African and international media environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.

Experience with Meltwater, Cision, Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Muck Rack, or similar platforms is an advantage. French or Arabic language skills are also a plus.

A degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, media studies, social sciences, data analytics, or a related field is preferred, although strong practical experience may be considered.
