Education, Skills and Experience
Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education Technology, Bachelor of Technology Education (BTech), Instructional Technology, Multimedia or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience working in an University media resource center or instructional technology setting.
OR
- Diploma in Multimedia or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience working in an University media resource center or instructional technology setting.
Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of instructional software and audio-visual equipment.
Key responsibilities also include
Reporting to: Dean, School of Education
Duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare, operate, and maintain facilities and equipment in the Micro-Teaching Laboratory, Media Resource Centre, Language Laboratory, and Geography Laboratory.
- Provide technical support for teaching practice simulations, including recording, playback, and analysis of sessions.
- Manage and support Smart Classrooms and ICT-enabled teaching spaces, ensuring reliable use of projectors, interactive boards, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Oversee acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, and maintenance of media resources in the Media Resource Centre and School Library.
- Train faculty and student-teachers in instructional technologies, Blackboard (BB) skills, smartboard use, and classroom presentation techniques.
- Support learners in information retrieval, digital literacy, and academic referencing, integrating e-learning and digital platforms into teaching and learning.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, and manage storage, security, troubleshooting, and maintenance of laboratory and media equipment.
