Our client, a leading private hospital, is seeking to recruit a competent and dedicated Medical Officer to provide high-quality medical care, diagnose and treat patients, and support the delivery of exceptional healthcare services. The successful candidate will play a key role in patient management while ensuring compliance with clinical standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive medical examinations and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patients' responses to treatment.
- Perform minor medical procedures within the scope of practice.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide life-saving interventions when required.
- Admit, review, and discharge patients with appropriate documentation.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records.
- Request, interpret, and act on laboratory and diagnostic test results.
- Refer patients to specialists or higher levels of care when necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Supervise and mentor interns, clinical officers, nurses, and other junior healthcare staff where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
- Adhere to professional ethics, hospital policies, and relevant healthcare regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration and a practicing license from the relevant medical regulatory authority.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification will be an added advantage.
- At least 2 years' relevant work experience is preferred.
