Role Summary

The Medical Officer will support the provision of quality healthcare services by:

  • Conducting thorough clinical assessments
  • Making accurate diagnoses
  • Prescribing treatment
  • Performing medical procedures
  • Managing patients in accordance with hospital policies and Ministry of Health guidelines

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients in both outpatient and inpatient departments.
  • Perform ward rounds, clerking, and documentation of patient care.
  • Support emergency and critical care services, including triage and stabilization.
  • Conduct minor and major medical procedures as required.
  • Ensure accurate medical records and adherence to hospital treatment protocols.
  • Participate in clinical audits, Continuing Medical Education (CMEs), and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Uphold professional ethics and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
  • Valid and up-to-date registration and practicing license with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in a busy clinical setup.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to compassionate, holistic patient care.
