JOB PURPOSE

To attend to patients in the Outpatient department by offering consultations and performing necessary procedures, stabilize emergencies in the Accident and Emergency and Inpatient department, liaise with consultants in the management of patients in the Inpatient and Outpatient departments.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Attending to any emergencies in the A&E and Out-patient departments

Attending patients in the In -patient department in conjunction with the consultant.

Attending direct admissions and doing admissions of patients when deemed necessary.

Participating in mortality and morbidity audits.

Diagnosis and management as per protocol.

Participation in health talks and outreach programs

Participation in training including weekly CMEs

Participation in creating clinical SOPs in coordination with resident consultants.

Maintaining medical records through proper documentation of patient’s medical history and procedures done.

Counseling patients and relatives on diagnosis and bereavement

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery.

Registered with The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.

Valid practicing License from The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board

Active BLS AND ACLS certificates.
