About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based scientific expert responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) within a specific therapeutic area. This role plays a crucial part in disseminating scientific information, gathering insights, and supporting the company's medical strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with KOLs and HCPs in the assigned territory.
  • Disseminate accurate and balanced scientific and clinical information about AstraZeneca's products and therapeutic areas.
  • Gather insights from KOLs and HCPs regarding clinical practice, unmet medical needs, and competitive intelligence.
  • Support the planning and execution of medical affairs activities, including advisory boards, scientific meetings, and investigator-initiated studies.
  • Provide scientific and clinical support to internal stakeholders, including the medical, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a life science or healthcare-related field (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD, MSc).
  • Proven experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a similar scientific/medical affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of the assigned therapeutic area(s).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs and HCPs.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Fluency in English and relevant local languages.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical affairs or a related scientific role.
