Responsibilities or duties

  • Undertaking general diagnosis, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients
  • Carrying out specialized clinical care
  • Providing psycho-social interventions
  • Providing clinical services to patients
  • Training, consulting, and conducting surgeries in various health facilities
  • Carrying out forensic and medical-legal services
  • Coordinating health education and promotion
  • Implementing health projects and programs
  • Maintaining up-to-date health information systems
  • Monitoring provision of health treatment care
  • Undertaking health research
  • Analysing medical reports

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
  • Masters in Internal Medicine from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
  • Certificate of registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
  • Valid practicing license by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
  • Valid specialist recognition from the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
  • Certificate in Computer Application Skills; and
  • Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability in managing health services
