Responsibilities or duties
- Undertaking general diagnosis, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients
- Carrying out specialized clinical care
- Providing psycho-social interventions
- Providing clinical services to patients
- Training, consulting, and conducting surgeries in various health facilities
- Carrying out forensic and medical-legal services
- Coordinating health education and promotion
- Implementing health projects and programs
- Maintaining up-to-date health information systems
- Monitoring provision of health treatment care
- Undertaking health research
- Analysing medical reports
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
- Masters in Internal Medicine from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
- Certificate of registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
- Valid practicing license by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
- Valid specialist recognition from the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
- Certificate in Computer Application Skills; and
- Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability in managing health services
