About the role

We are looking for a driven Merchandiser to own our brand's presence across Kenya's leading retail chains. In this role, you will drive availability, visibility, and sales growth by proactively generating orders and building strong relationships with store teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Availability & Stock Management

  • Ensure consistent product availability across all assigned stores.
  • Monitor stock levels and proactively propose replenishment orders.
  • Identify and immediately flag out-of-stock or low-stock situations.
  • Manage stock rotation using FIFO (First-In-First-Out) to minimize expiries.

Merchandising & Display Standards

  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-arranged product displays.
  • Ensure all products are correctly priced and price labels are visible.
  • Implement and maintain company-approved planograms.
  • Secure and maintain adequate shelf facings for each SKU.
  • Utilize secondary display locations (SPLs), end caps, and dump bins to maximize visibility.

Promotions & Activations

  • Execute in-store promotions, price-offs, and product launches.
  • Set up promotional displays, demo tables, and point-of-sale materials (shelf talkers, wobblers, etc.).
  • Support product sampling and consumer tastings as required.
  • Track promotional performance and report on off-take.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Store Managers, Section Heads, and Receiving Teams.
  • Act as the brand ambassador in-store, ensuring our products receive priority attention.

Reporting & Insights

  • Provide regular reports on sales, availability, pricing, and competitor activity.
  • Report any issues such as pricing discrepancies, damaged stock, or unauthorized delisting.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

Education: Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in in-store merchandising within the FMCG, retail, or consumer goods sector.

  • Experience handling key retail accounts is a strong advantage.
