Halo, I'm urgently looking for a microbiologist to join a new Distillery startup in Kericho Kenya- West Valley Sugar Company Distillers

Conduct microbiological tests on samples like food, water, and clinical specimens. Isolate, cultivate, and identify microorganisms using various laboratory techniques. Analyze and interpret data to identify microorganisms and their properties. Develop and validate new diagnostic tests and processes. Monitor and investigate infectious disease outbreaks. Ensure lab compliance with safety, quality control, and regulatory standards. Record, analyze, and interpret experimental data and write reports. Collaborate with other scientists, researchers, and clinical teams.
Analytical and problem-solving: Strong ability to analyze data, solve problems, and think critically. Technical: Proficiency with laboratory techniques, including culturing, microscopy, and molecular methods like PCR and sequencing. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to report findings and collaborate with others. Attention to detail: Meticulous and thorough, with strong organizational skills. IT: Competency with computers and common software packages. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Education: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement, but many advanced roles may prefer or require a master's or Ph.D. Experience: Hands-on experience in a research or clinical laboratory is often required. This can include experience with specific techniques or in a particular industry like food or pharmaceuticals. Certifications: Professional certifications may be beneficial or required for certain specialized roles.
