Background

JUMIA is an e-commerce startup with an aim to mimic Amazon’s success by delivering a wide range of items, from toys to generators across the African continent. Shortly after the startup of the business in Nigeria, JUMIA launched warehouses in four other growing countries which include: Egypt, Morocco, Kenya and Cote d'Ivoire.

Responsibilities

  • Incubation Strategy: Leading the "Incubation" phase for all newly acquired sellers ensuring they reach their first sales within their first 30 days on the platform.
  • Mass Management of Sellers: Overseeing the "Midtail" segment
  • Team Leadership: Managing a team of Incubation Associates and Midtail account managers, setting clear KPIs for seller activation and retention.
  • Growth Levers: Driving the adoption of Jumia growth tools (Sponsored Products, Jumia Express) specifically among smaller vendors to boost their visibility.
  • Performance Monitoring: Tracking "New Seller Success Rate" and "Churn Rate" using PowerBI and internal dashboards to identify bottlenecks in the seller journey.
  • Operational Excellence: Improving the self-service capabilities of the platform to reduce the need for manual intervention for Midtail sellers.

BA/BSc/HND
