Description

The Mobile Battery Swap Technician is responsible for providing on-the-go battery swapping services to boda boda riders, delivering fully charged batteries to designated locations based on data-driven insights. Using Enzi’s tracking system, the technician will ensure riders have access to reliable battery power by exchanging low-charge batteries for fully charged ones efficiently and safely. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility, particularly regarding transaction verification and safe battery handling.

Key Responsibilities

Battery Swapping on Location:

  • Use Enzi’s data on battery status and traffic patterns to identify high-demand areas.
  • Deliver fully charged batteries along a designated route, equipped with a motorbike holding 6 fully charged batteries.
  • Facilitate efficient battery swaps, exchanging depleted batteries for fully charged ones in a timely and secure manner.

Payment Verification & Documentation:

  • Verify that payment has been completed by the customer on the Enzi app before finalizing the battery swap.
  • Ensure that each transaction is accurately documented and logged into the Enzi app.
  • Take responsibility for reporting and following up on any issues related to payment verification with the Operations Manager.

Customer Service & Engagement:

  • Provide friendly, respectful service to all customers, addressing any questions about the battery swap process.
  • Educate riders on proper battery care and provide information on any updates to Enzi’s services.
  • Report customer feedback or any operational challenges to the Operations Manager to continuously improve service quality.

Battery Tracking & Management:

  • Track battery swaps and conditions, logging each transaction and noting any issues with battery performance.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of batteries during loading, transport, and swap processes in accordance with company guidelines.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all road safety regulations and best practices for safe battery handling during transport and swapping.
  • Conduct daily checks on the company motorbike to ensure it is in good working order, promptly reporting any maintenance needs.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Optimize route planning with the Operations Manager to maximize coverage and minimize response time to customers.
  • Utilize Enzi’s tracking and route planning tools to enhance service efficiency and identify high-demand areas.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • High school certificate; a certification in customer service or battery/electrical/mechanical technology is a plus.
  • Experience in delivery services, customer-facing roles, or logistics is preferred.

Competencies:

  • Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with digital payment verification or the ability to learn app-based processes.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and follow a scheduled route.
  • Safety-conscious, responsible approach to motorbike and battery handling.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid motorcycle license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and handle batteries safely (approximately 26 kg each).

Working Conditions

Schedule: Full-time, with shifts covering peak hours.

Travel: Primarily on designated routes in high-demand areas to provide Enzi’s customers with mobile battery swapping.

Compensation: Monthly salary of Kes. 35,000.
