Job Title: Modern Trade Executive

Reports To: Commercial Manager

Job Purpose

To drive sales growth within modern trade channels (supermarkets, retail chains, and key accounts) by managing relationships, ensuring product availability, and executing trade strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships with modern trade clients (e.g., supermarkets, distributors, large retail chains).
  • Achieve sales targets, volume, and revenue growth within assigned accounts.
  • Ensure consistent product availability, visibility, and proper merchandising across outlets.
  • Negotiate listings, shelf space, pricing, and promotional activities with key accounts.
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market trends within the packaging industry.
  • Coordinate order processing, deliveries, and resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Work closely with production and logistics teams to ensure timely supply of products.
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and account performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Sales revenue and volume growth
  • Account retention and expansion
  • Product availability (fill rate)
  • Shelf visibility and execution standards
  • Collection efficiency / debtor days

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • 2–5 years’ experience in modern trade or key account management (FMCG or packaging preferred)
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Good understanding of retail operations and distribution channels
