About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team in Kenya. The M&E Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and impact of our programs by designing, implementing, and managing our M&E systems. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and reporting on program data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement M&E frameworks, tools, and methodologies for GiveDirectly's programs in Kenya.
  • Oversee the collection, cleaning, and management of program data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis to assess program performance, identify trends, and generate insights.
  • Prepare regular M&E reports for internal stakeholders and external partners, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Support program teams in the use of M&E data for adaptive management and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of program evaluations and impact assessments.
  • Build the capacity of program staff on M&E principles and practices through training and ongoing support.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and ethical guidelines in all M&E activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience (at least 2 years) in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the nonprofit or development sector.
  • Strong understanding of M&E concepts, methodologies, and tools.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis software (e.g., Stata, R, SPSS, NVivo).
  • Experience with data collection tools and platforms (e.g., SurveyCTO, KoboToolbox).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the Kenyan context and development landscape is a plus.

Experience Needed

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation.
