Background
Our client, a fast-growing Internet Service Provider (ISP), is seeking a skilled and dependable Network Engineer to design, configure, and maintain robust network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and security of both customer-facing and internal network systems.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design & Implementation
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable ISP network infrastructure (fiber, wireless, and radio links).
- Configure and maintain routing and switching environments using technologies such as Cisco and MikroTik.
- Plan and implement network expansions and upgrades.
Network Operations & Maintenance
- Monitor network performance and ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network outages, latency issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patch management.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Ensure adherence to security policies and industry best practices.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and mitigate risks.
NOC & Support
- Work closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC) to ensure efficient incident response and resolution.
- Provide tier 2/3 technical support for network-related issues.
- Maintain documentation for network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
Customer & Internal Support
- Support enterprise and retail customers with connectivity solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams (technical support, field engineers, and sales) for service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in an ISP environment.
- Proven experience with ISP technologies including: Fiber optic networks, Wireless systems and radio links
- Hands-on experience with: Cisco networking equipment, MikroTik routers and configurations
- Experience working in or with a Network Operations Center (NOC)
Certifications (Preferred)
CCNA / CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional)
HCIP (Huawei Certified ICT Professional)
MikroTik certifications (MTCNA, MTCRE, etc.)
