Mission Statement for the Role:
Deployment, commissioning, support, and preventive maintenance of Poa Networks across Kenya in a timely, cost-effective, and high-quality manner—enabling Poa’s Commercial teams to achieve their growth objectives.
Overall Responsibility:
Responsible for end-to-end execution of wireless installations, commissioning, field support, and preventive maintenance for assigned networks (new and expansions) across Kenya. The role ensures delivery against installation and commissioning targets with a strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency to support Poa’s national scale-up plans..
Role Responsibilities:
- Deploy, commission & support wireless Distribution Points in accordance with the Site Installation guidelines.
- Maintain 99.9% Tower Uptime through proactive maintenance and timely reactive interventions.
- Ensure zero repeat installs and maintain strict EHS compliance with no site accidents or fatalities.
- Ensure zero installation complaints from the community arising from damages to property or improper site keeping.
- Ensure full accountability for materials while maintaining accurate, transparent and consistent reporting.
Academic qualifications required for the role: .
- Diploma in a relevant engineering field, preferably in Telecommunications/Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
Key Competencies required for the role:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in wireless installation and commissioning within the telecom industry.
- Proficient in antenna and power installations, with confidence working at heights; knowledge of routing, switching, IT systems, and fibre planning is an added advantage.
- Proven ability to successfully implement major wireless installs & commissioning in a fast-growing organisation with limited resources and strict timelines.
- A consistent track record of having cost-effectively implemented site builds with strict adherence to high-quality and safety standards in past engagements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; self-driven team player with a proactive attitude and a passion for continuous learning.
- Willing to travel frequently across the country on short notice.
Mandatory criteria with no exceptions to hire:
- Proven experience in a fast-growing, high-performance organization with a similar culture and values to Poa.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure while delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines.
- Experience working across different regions in Kenya and with multicultural teams.
- Track record of driving quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement in a consumer tech services environment.
