Background

Valley Hospital is a leading Level 4 healthcare facility in Nakuru City providing both inpatient and outpatient services. We are seeking to recruit a Nurse Administrator to support operational leadership within the Nursing Department and strengthen nursing governance across all units.

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring efficient nursing operations, enhancing patient care outcomes, and aligning nursing practices with the hospital's commitment to quality, safety, and service excellence.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Nursing in strategic planning and execution of nursing services
• Oversee non-clinical nursing staff, including the Billing Nurse
• Coordinate community engagement activities in liaison with the Client Services department
• Prepare credentialing documents and support onboarding of doctors
• Participate in recruitment, training, and onboarding of new nurses
• Develop mentorship programs and career progression opportunities for nursing staff
• Maintain accurate documentation for compliance and accreditation reviews
• Participate in regular audits to ensure regulatory adherence and risk mitigation
• Monitor nursing department expenditures and ensure cost-effective resource utilization
• Oversee procurement and inventory management of nursing department medical supplies
• Coordinate training for student interns
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and hospital committees as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• BSN/KRCHN from a recognized institution
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in nursing leadership
• Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and hold a valid Practicing License
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
