Background
New Life Home Trust (NLHT) has over 30 years provided a compassionate Christian response to the plight of abandoned and other extremely vulnerable babies. NLHT is committed to 1) RESCUE abandoned and other extremely vulnerable babies; 2) Give high standards of CARE to the children and, 3) PLACE children into loving family situations (through biological family re-integration, foster care, and adoption).
Job Purpose:
The Nurse will provide medical care and safety to all NLHT babies and children in the Home, through proper assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, managing the cold chain, facilitating doctor’s visits, and supporting medical referrals. The role will also be responsible for documenting the baby’s medical reports, compiling and submitting facility reports to the county office, and managing the medical supply and stock inventory.
Qualification and Experience:
- Diploma in Nursing or the equivalent.
- Certificate and License with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- A minimum of 2 years cumulative experience in a nursing role.
- Experience in a main hospital's pediatric ward, NICU, or PICU.
- Specialty training in pediatrics, neonatology, ICU, or pediatric HIV management will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competence:
- Passion to work with babies/children.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
- High standards of medical professional ethics and technical competence.
- Target setting and managing performance.
- Ability to articulate and implement medical services.
- Ability to prioritize own workload and work with minimal supervision.
