Job Description

To provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care in accordance with established clinical standards and hospital policies, ensuring optimal patient outcomes while supporting multidisciplinary healthcare delivery and promoting quality, safety, and professionalism in nursing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in assigned units in line with the nursing process and scope of practice.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to meet individual patient needs.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and safely, and monitor patient responses.
  • Monitor and record patients’ vital signs, progress, and condition, reporting any changes promptly.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential nursing documentation and patient records.
  • Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, medication use, disease prevention, and health promotion.
  • Collaborate effectively with doctors, clinical officers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control guidelines, patient safety standards, and hospital policies.
  • Participate in ward rounds, handovers, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain competence and licensure.

Requirements

  • Experience in medical-surgical, maternity, pediatric, or critical care nursing will be an added advantage.
  • Strong clinical skills, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient care skills.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) with a valid practicing license.
  • At least two (2) years’ relevant clinical experience in a hospital setting.
