Background
The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) is an independent statutory body established under the Constitution of Kenya. Its mandate is to promote gender equality and the protection of the rights of women, men, and marginalized groups.
Responsibilities
The Office Assistant III will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth operation of the office. Key duties include:
- Managing and maintaining office records and filing systems.
- Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail and emails.
- Assisting with scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
- Providing general administrative support to staff.
- Maintaining office supplies and equipment.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A minimum of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent.
- A Certificate in Secretarial Studies, Office Management, or a related field is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience
Previous experience in an administrative or office support role is desirable.
