Overview
Crimson Global Academy is hiring a part-time Online Journalism Teacher to deliver live online lessons to high school students from around the world. The role focuses on personalized, interactive teaching using technology while offering flexibility in scheduling.
Required teaching availability (PST):
- Mondays & Wednesdays – 3:30 AM PST
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging live Journalism lessons for international high school students.
- Adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and digital tools to create an interactive online classroom.
Assessment & Student Support
- Assess student progress and provide constructive, personalized feedback.
- Design and administer homework, quizzes, tests, and examinations.
- Modify teaching approaches to improve student learning outcomes.
Course Management
- Create and communicate clear course schedules, including lesson plans and assessment timelines.
- Manage course content, assignments, and assessments through Canvas LMS.
- Maintain an organized online classroom.
Resource Development
- Develop high-quality teaching materials, assessments, and examinations.
- Contribute educational resources to Crimson's teaching library.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of high school teaching experience (Grades 9–12) in a school setting.
- Tutoring experience does not count toward this requirement.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in:
- Journalism
- English
- or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using online teaching platforms and educational technology.
- Knowledge of the U.S. high school curriculum and relevant external examinations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., teaching license, PGCE, teaching degree).
- Previous online teaching experience.
