Areas of responsibility:

• Deeper understanding of freight forwarding operation
• Oversee operations in Mombasa and Nairobi offices
• Bond Management -execute all required bonds in liaison with the insurance company
• Generation of internal order numbers -creation of internal order number for tracking & billing purposes
• Approvals- Review and approve all supplier or vendor invoices before payment
• Regulatory compliance -ensure compliance with all local and international regulations related to freight forwarding
• Customs operations oversight- serve as customs liaison representative at KEBS, KRA, and the Kenya Federation of Freight Forwarders Association
• People Management- offer administrative role to the employee and assessing their performance, setting targets, conducting performance reviews
• Data protection- maintain confidentiality of department data collected

Job Requirement;

Education

• Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or from related field
• Certification from Kenya School of Revenue Administration
• Computer knowledge

Job related skills, knowledge and experience

• 5 years experience in managerial position in Clearing & Forwarding
• Strong understanding of clearing & forwarding operations, regulations, compliance, and financial accuracy, coupled with effective communication skills to liaise with regulatory bodies and insurance companies
• Good problem-solving skills

• Manage and oversee daily operations of the clearing and forwarding department, efficient processes, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely execution of tasks.
