Our client, is a startup in signage advertising. They are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of their signage and displays manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth production workflows, effective resource allocation, quality control, and on-time delivery of client orders, while driving continuous improvement in efficiency, safety, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Workflow Management
- Oversee daily factory operations including planning, scheduling, and monitoring of signage and display projects.
- Coordinate between design, fabrication, assembly, finishing, and installation teams to ensure efficient production flow.
- Manage inventory of raw materials (acrylic, metal, vinyl, LED, substrates, etc.) and ensure timely procurement.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste, downtime, and costs.
People, Recruitment & Team Leadership
- Source, recruit, and onboard skilled staff across all departments (fabrication, printing, installation, logistics, admin).
- Supervise, train, and motivate factory staff, including machine operators, fabricators, installers, and logistics personnel.
- Develop staffing plans, allocate tasks, and ensure performance targets are met.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
Quality & Compliance
- Establish and enforce strict quality control standards across all production stages.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure products meet design specifications and client requirements.
Customer & Project Coordination
- Liaise with customers and design teams to align production with client expectations.
- Monitor project timelines and proactively address bottlenecks to meet deadlines.
- Manage after-sales support where operational input is required (e.g., installations, maintenance, defect resolution).
Financial & Strategic Management
- Monitor and control production costs, overheads, and resource utilization.
- Track KPIs such as output, scrap rates, machine uptime, and order fulfillment timelines.
- Contribute to strategic planning for capacity expansion, new machinery acquisition, and process automation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or signage/printing/display production environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with hands-on factory floor experience.
- Knowledge of signage production processes: CNC routing, laser cutting, large format printing, vinyl application, LED integration, metal/wood fabrication, etc.
- Proficiency in ERP or production management software.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
Performance Indicators
- On-time delivery rate of projects.
- Reduction of waste and downtime.
- Employee productivity and retention.
- Customer satisfaction ratings.
- Achievement of cost efficiency targets.
