Responsibilities
- Apply Linear Programming: Instruct students to use Simplex methods to solve complex logistics and manufacturing optimization problems.
- Manage Inventory Models: Teach the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Just-in-Time (JIT) models to optimize stock levels.
- Forecast Demand: Guide students in using quantitative time-series methods (moving averages, exponential smoothing) to predict future demand.
- Simulate Queuing Models: Analyze service systems (e.g., bank tellers, call centers) using queuing theory to improve customer waiting times.
- Develop Scheduling Solutions: Instruct on the application of sequencing and scheduling algorithms (e.g., Johnson's rule) to optimize workflow.
- Utilize Decision Analysis: Train students to use decision trees and utility theory to make informed decisions under uncertainty.
