KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform tests to assess visual acuity, perception, and ocular health.
- Diagnose ocular disease and visual abnormalities.
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and visual aids under supervision.
- Refer patients to Ophthalmologists or Clinical Officers when needed.
- Evaluate specialty eye-care needs and prepare service statistics.
- Ensure optometry equipment is well resourced and maintained.
- Dispense corrective spectacles and support high refraction-to-dispense conversion.
- Supervise junior staff and participate in medical staff functions and continuing education.
- Be flexible to serve at satellite clinics and resolve optometry-related issues accurately and on time.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES
- Degree or Diploma in Optometry
- 3 years' experience in the same field
- Hospital experience is an added advantage
- Multi-task oriented
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Professionalism and integrity
