Job Purpose

To provide specialized clinical care to patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, including trauma, fractures, and sports-related injuries.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine/Orthopaedic Technology or a Degree in Clinical Medicine (with a focus on Orthopaedics).

Licensing: Must be registered and hold a valid practicing license.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an orthopaedic/trauma unit.

Key Competencies:

  • Skilled in plastering, traction, and wound care.
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.
  • Strong understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy.
  • Good communication skills for patient and family education.
  • Assess and manage patients with orthopaedic and traumatic conditions in the outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Perform and assist in procedures such as fracture reductions, cast applications, and wound management.
  • Assist orthopaedic surgeons in the operating theatre during surgeries.
  • Educate patients on rehabilitation, wound care, and use of orthopaedic devices.
  • Monitor patient recovery and progress, reporting any concerns to the specialist.
  • Maintain and manage orthopaedic equipment and supplies, including plaster and traction devices.
