Orthopedic & Trauma Medicine Technician

Positions: 5
Job Summary
Responsible for supporting orthopedic and trauma services through preparation and application of orthopedic devices, assisting with patient care, and supporting clinicians in the management of musculoskeletal injuries.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and equipment for orthopedic and trauma procedures.
- Assist qualified clinicians during orthopedic procedures within the scope of practice.
- Apply and maintain casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic support devices as directed.
- Prepare orthopedic instruments and materials.
- Assist with patient positioning and safe movement.
- Monitor orthopedic equipment and supplies.
- Maintain appropriate clinical records.
- Follow infection-prevention and patient-safety procedures.
- Provide patients with appropriate care instructions within the scope of responsibility.
- Report equipment problems and clinical concerns to the relevant professional.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Orthopedic/Trauma Technology or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Appropriate professional registration/licensing where applicable.
- Practical knowledge of orthopedic and trauma procedures.
- Good communication and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
