Pharmaceutical technologists require skills in accuracy, communication, and organization to handle responsibilities like dispensing medications, managing inventory, and assisting pharmacists. 

Medication Handling: Accurately preparing and dispensing prescriptions Compounding medications under a pharmacist's supervision Ensuring proper storage, labeling, and expiry date management Administrative & Financial: Maintaining patient records and insurance information Processing insurance claims and handling billing Managing inventory, including ordering and stocking medications Patient & Team Support: Assisting pharmacists with prescription verification Providing information to patients on proper medication use Answering phones and performing other clerical tasks Compliance & Quality: Adhering to all relevant regulatory standards and protocols Performing quality control tests and maintaining detailed documentation

Technical & Analytical: Accuracy in dispensing, dosage calculations, and compounding Proficiency in using pharmacy software Knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences, drug classifications, and medical terminology Ability to maintain and calibrate equipment Organizational & Managerial: Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Inventory management and expiry date tracking Record-keeping and data entry Interpersonal & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Customer service and patient interaction Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Problem-solving and stress management

Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution Must be enrolled with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board Minimum two years experience in a busy pharmacy Knowledge in Cosmetics and Nutraceuticals is an added advantage
