The PMO Intern will provide hands-on experience in the Field Engineering discipline, developing practical knowledge and skills aligned with industry standards and best practices. This role supports the Project Management Office (PMO) in various critical areas of project execution.
Responsibilities or duties
Site Supervision and Construction Support:
- Assist in supervising day-to-day construction and field activities.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Support inspection of earthworks, concrete works, drainage systems, roads, buildings, pipelines, and structural works.
- Assist in measuring work quantities and verifying completed works on site.
- Participate in monitoring project progress and reporting site activities.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Support implementation of quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Assist in conducting site inspections and material checks.
- Participate in field tests including slump tests, compaction tests, concrete cube sampling, and DCP tests.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Support identification, documentation, and tracking of non-conformances, defects, and deviations from approved drawings or project plans.
Health, Safety, and Environment:
- Observe and promote compliance with LTWP safety procedures and HSE policies.
- Assist Field Engineers in ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety inspections, and risk assessments.
- Monitor site activities for hazards and report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses.
- Recommend corrective actions where applicable.
Documentation and Reporting:
- File daily, weekly, and monthly contractor reports in Dropbox.
- Maintain records of site activities, inspections, test results, and material usage.
- Assist in preparing project documentation including method statements, work plans, and progress reports.
- Support updating drawings, as-built records, and site instructions.
Coordination and Communication:
- Liaise with contractors, technicians, suppliers, and project stakeholders under supervision.
- Attend project meetings and track action items.
- Support coordination of construction resources and site logistics.
