Background
Safer Power is fully registered and licensed EPC, dealing with key projects like Solar, power and energy projects and medium to big size HVAC projects. We specialize in biosafety laboratory EPC, having done various BSL 2, 2+ and 3 labs in Kenya. We are also licensed panel builders by Schneider Electric and run an assembly workshop where we make switchboards.
Responsibilities
The Panel Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling electrical switchboards and control panels according to technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and quality standards. The role requires attention to detail, technical competence, and a strong commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical switchboards and control panels from technical drawings and schematics
- Mount and secure electrical components including breakers, contactors, relays, PLCs, and busbars
- Perform wiring, termination, and cable routing neatly and accurately
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and layout drawings
- Conduct basic testing and quality checks before final inspection
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and quality teams
- Meet production deadlines while maintaining high workmanship standards
Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years' experience in switchboard or control panel assembly within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
- Strong knowledge of electrical components including breakers, contactors, relays, PLCs, bus-bars, and control devices
- Competent in the use of hand and power tools
- Sound understanding of electrical standards and workplace health & safety practices
