Paralegal & Compliance Officer

About The Role

Burn is looking for a Paralegal & Compliance Officer who will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the Group’s legal compliance.


Duties And Responsibilities
• Serve as lead liaison with regulators, company secretaries, and other internal/external auditors concerning deliverables from the tax and legal department.
• Preparation of board resolutions, minutes, and powers of attorneys for the Group.
• Convening shareholders’ annual general meetings for the Group.
• Preparing and filing all relevant statutory returns and notifications at the Companies Registry in the relevant countries.
• Research and updates on new and emerging changes in applicable laws and regulations and practices.
• Assisting in preparation of documentation required for incorporation of new entities in new markets including licensing and registration with the relevant competent authorities.
• Maintaining the Group’s company compliance & Statutory returns calendar.
• Assist to provide a legal/company secretarial budget in line with countries’ timelines.
• Provide business support to aid existing and pipeline business initiatives; and
• Any other tasks as may be assigned by the Company.

Requirements
• Technical skills i.e., e-mail systems, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to review and organize numerous related documents

Education And Experience
• At least 2 years of proven experience as a compliance officer.
• CPS or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution
