This role is critical for ensuring the service center has the right parts, at the right time, and at the best cost to maintain efficient vehicle repair and service operations. The Parts Advisor acts as the link between the service technicians, customers, and parts suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

​Parts Sourcing & Procurement:

  • ​Identify and source required parts (OEM and aftermarket) through authorized dealers, distributors, and suppliers.
  • ​Negotiate pricing, discounts, and terms to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
  • ​Place, track, and follow up on all parts orders to ensure timely delivery.

​Inventory Management:

  • ​Maintain accurate stock levels to minimize delays in the service bay and prevent overstocking.
  • ​Conduct regular physical inventory checks and reconcile them with the inventory management system.
  • ​Manage parts storage, organization, and security.

​Service & Sales Support:

  • ​Assist service technicians by identifying and issuing the correct parts for repair jobs based on vehicle VIN and repair orders.
  • ​Serve as a customer-facing representative for parts sales, offering advice, checking availability, and providing quotes.
  • ​Process invoices, warranties, and returns for parts transactions.

​System and Administration:

  • ​Maintain up-to-date records within the Parts Management System, including pricing, part numbers, and supplier details.
  • ​Generate reports on inventory levels, sales, and purchasing performance.

⚙️ Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience in motor vehicle parts sales, inventory management, or procurement within the automotive industry a must.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of motor vehicle components, systems, and their functions (e.g., engines, transmissions, braking systems).
  • Systems Proficiency: Familiarity with parts inventory software.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to recording data and managing inventory accuracy.
