Job Summary
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multiple client payrolls in a fast-paced and high-demand environment. This role requires strong analytical thinking, quick decision-making, and a high level of customer service. You will manage payroll workflows end-to-end, ensure compliance with payroll regulations, and act as a trusted point of contact for client inquiries. Success in this role depends on attention to detail, organization, and the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Management
- Process and manage multiple client payrolls simultaneously
- Ensure all payroll transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant
- Understand and apply payroll taxation rules
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare quarter-end and year-end reporting
- Generate ad hoc reports for clients
- Ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations
Deductions & Adjustments
- Process wage garnishments, child support orders, and tax levies accurately
Client Support & Communication
- Respond to client inquiries related to payroll and systems
- Provide clear, professional, and timely support
- Maintain strong client relationships through excellent service
Coordination & Workflow
- Manage payroll workflow from beginning to end
- Coordinate activities with clients across multiple systems
- Ensure deadlines are consistently met
Operational Excellence
- Manage client-related payroll projects
- Maintain accountability, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1+ year of customer service experience
- Experience in administrative roles is a MUST
Required Skills
- Strong phone presence and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Problem-solving and prioritization abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused mindset
Additional Hiring Requirements
Job stability is critical. Profiles with less than one year per role are considered high attrition risk and will be rejected. The longer the tenure in previous roles, the stronger the application.
